Laughter
Laughter is a London-based band fusing the intensity of post-hardcore and noise rock with the atmospheric textures of dreampop. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Cro-Mags, Cocteau Twins, and Polvo, they pair jagged guitars and ethereal vocals to create a sound that is both abrasive and immersive.
From the outset, Laughter quickly built a reputation for their explosive live shows, earning support slots with Deeper (Sub Pop), Man/Woman/Chainsaw, Flyying Colours, Trash Boat, thistle., Ain’t, Twen, and Mould.
Their debut EP, Group Bonding, marked a major step forward, resulting in a sold-out headline show at Paper Dress Vintage followed by headline performances at The Windmill Brixton and a Rough Trade Recommends showcase at Rough Trade East.
Now signed to Venn Records, Laughter is preparing to release their sophomore EP, Slime, pushing their sound further into the space between crushing heaviness, shimmering melody, and raw cathartic intensity.
By balancing visceral aggression with a dreamlike atmosphere, Laughter continues to carve out a distinctive space within the UK’s alternative underground.
