Fanchon
Post-grunge dreamcore band based in London with influences ranging from Deftones to Lana Del Rey to Alice In Chains. Poetry based lyrics and ‘power in softness’ vocals over heavy energy instrumentals. One part French, four parts English.
Fanchon built a UK presence by gigging regularly but were struggling to find lineups that matched their sound, usually either too heavy or not classically metal enough. The band stands out through their equal emphasis on lyrical worldbuilding and clearly defined aestheticism, offering poetry books as merch that allow further insight into literary themes explored.
