Hailing from Brighton, CARNE is built on the tension of things left unsaid. Driven by the singular vision of French-born, UK-based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Carmen Mellino, the band fuses '90s alternative grit with a stark visual edge: high-fashion lines colliding with raw DIY noise. Written in the dark but styled for strobe lights, CARNE moves fluidly from intimate, diary-entry whispers to a wall of sound.

Mellino is the sole songwriter behind the project, bringing her music to life alongside Emia Demir on bass, Charlie Jenkins on guitar, and Joe McTaggart on drums. Together, the quartet turns intricate arrangements into a sharp, energetic live show.

Mellino pairs technical skill with real touring experience across the UK and Europe. In 2024, her previous project Belmondo supported iconic US rock band Filter, and she continues to step in as a session guitarist for Republica. Her studio writing experience includes work with Olivia Sebastianelli, The Ninety2, and Daz Special. This year Carmen has been made a Resident Artist at the Roundhouse in London.

Channeling these rich collaborative experiences back into her own project, Mellino and her band deliver a focused, uncompromising sound that is as sophisticated as it is heavy-hitting.
